Based on the beloved Singulare 2010 Phantom, the H-Town Illusione Lancero is part of Illusione’s Cigars Prívé line. This medium-strength cigar offers a complex flavor profile, opening with some familiar toastiness before gradually evolving to reveal coffee, peanut, and even peppermint notes as the flavor profile grows in intensity to medium-full near the middle. A multisensory experience, The H-Town Fratello Lancero greets smokers with its dark wrapper that’s oily to the touch and an enjoyable aroma containing notes of licorice, hickory, and leather.
A few puffs in, the H-Town Fratello reveals a disarmingly mild-medium flavor profile, greeting smokers notes of dry cocoa and sweetened coffee on the cold draw. But don’t be fooled; this cigar contains multitudes. As the smoke progresses, peat and faint red pepper enter the mix, balanced by the familiar sweetness from the first few puffs. The H-Town Tatuaje is a cigar to savor from the second it leaves the cellophane, offering a tantalizing whiskey cake aroma on the foot, complimented by earthy cocoa notes from the wrapper that carries over to the cold draw, accompanied by hints of green tea and orange soda.
Once lit, the H-Town Tatuaje fulfills the promise of it’s sweet-but-not-too-sweet cold draw, as the orange soda flavors evolve to include notes of red pepper, burnt cedar, and sweet milk chocolate. While it may not last as long as most Lanceros, the H-Town La Palina still offers a full, nuanced flavor experience that serious and casual smokers alike are sure to appreciate. Pre-light, the La Palina is somewhat restrained, with a grainy, almost neutral aroma. The cold draw is similarly mellow, with a hint of pepper amidst some creamy sweetness.

Those looking for something a little bit more mellow (but still sophisticated) will find a lot to love in the H-Town Crowned Heads Four Kicks Lancero. This medium-bodied cigar holds its cards close to the chest, offering few clues on the foot and a clean, almost neutral cold draw.
But once the game gets going and the cigar is lit, the Four Kicks starts to live up to its name, greeting smokers with noticeable pepper notes before quickly settling into a more subtle, creamy flavor profile, with some light juicy/sour notes from the wrapper. But don’t get too comfortable, the “kick” really comes in at the midpoint as the pepper becomes more assertive, playing nicely with some oak and leather on the palate — flavors that grow fuller and more delicious as the cigar burns.

This one is special. For H-Town Guardian of the Farm Guapo Lancero, we partnered with two of our favorite cigar manufacturers — GANORSA Leaf and Warped Cigars — on this tribute to our longtime manager’s beloved dog Guapo.
One of the most visually appealing sticks in the H-Town series, the Guardian of Farm greets smokers with a gorgeous cinnamon-tint wrapper that’s smooth to the touch and gives off a sweet, leathery aroma that foreshadows the welcoming, relaxing smoke to come.
We recommend toasting the foot to start — those who do will be greeted by an array of inviting flavors, including cinnamon, leather, and rich espresso beans. Once lit, the Guardian of the Farm lives up to its initial promise with sweet flavors complimented early on by noticeable spice. These two aspects gradually balance out as the burn progresses, making for a sociable cigar with a lot to offer new and experienced cigar smokers alike.

New and old smokers worldwide recognize Alec Bradley as a reliable manufacturer of high-quality cigars, which made a natural choice for our H-Town series. This cigar has a rustic character that distinguishes it from the other H-Town Lanceros. Pre-light, the wrapper gives off strong outdoor aromas of sweet oak, hay, and leather.
These notes carry over to the first third of the cigar, appropriately complimented by notes of sweet grass for a mild profile. Once it reaches the second third, the outdoor flavors remain for the remainder of the smoke, but grow in strength as additional notes of espresso and black pepper begin to emerge.

The H-Town Quesada España Lancero

Like many of life’s great ideas, this one started over a fine beverage shared between friends. Stogies co-owner Jorge Ahued and the great Manuel “Manolo” Quesada agreed to collaborate on a new edition of the elusive España Lancero for the growing H-Town Lancero series, and the rest, as they say, is history.
While the wrapper gives off very little aroma, the foot offers an enticingly sweet but strong mixture of chocolate, brown sugar, and burnt coffee, the latter of which carries over to the cold draw, where it’s also joined by some aggressive black pepper.
These flavors all come out to play upon lighting, as the cigar grows warmer, woodier, and more citrus-heavy with each passing inch. At about the half-way mark, the H-Town Quesada España Lancero becomes noticeably more full-bodied, as the spicier notes begin to take over and the intensity ratchets up.
Smokers who want to pair the H-Town Quesada España Lancero with a beverage can go one of two ways, 1) compliment the flavor profile with a blended scotch or a nice cup of coffee, or; 2) let this full-bodied beauty do its thing and stay refreshed with a nice light beer.

The H-Town Namakubi Ecuador Lancero

Last but certainly not least, we have the H-Town Namakubi Ecuador Lancero. This medium-full bodied cigar is an in-your-face experience from the box to the band. The name Namakubi — a reference to the ancient samurai tradition of severing an enemy’s head — is a fair descriptor; this stick takes no prisoners.
Featuring the darkest wrapper in the series, the Namakubi greets you with a black-coffee tinted color and gives off a fair bit of oil. The color is more than just for looks, as coffee aromas emulate from the wrapper — discerning smokers may also pick up some orange notes after a few sniffs. Once lit, the Namakubi generates a lot of smoke and some intense flavors. Early on, you’ll get some heavy spice with a bit of earth and even some citrus notes. The heat only increases as it burns, with the back third creating a tingling sensation on the palate before giving way to a surprising bit of sweetness on the final few inches.
This is an intense cigar that should be paired with drinks that can keep up like single malt scotch, robust red wines, and imperial stouts.
