Warped Futuro Seleccion 109

The Warped Futuro Seleccion 109 is a new, limited release cigar made in collaboration between Warped Cigars and Casa Fernández. Only 400 boxes of 20 cigars were made available. This is a Nicaraguan puro, featuring a wrapper grown in Jalapa Valley from corojo 99 seed, covering a criollo 98 binder and a mix of corojo 98 and 99 in the filler leaves.

This toro stands 6 inches tall with a 52 ring gauge. The wrapper has a rich mocha coloring with a noticeably reddish hue, smooth to the touch despite prominent veins. A complex bouquet of vanilla, cinnamon, leather and oak greet the nose, while the cold draw revealsflavors of cinnamon, oak, chocolate and pepper.

When lit, there is an immediate blast of spicy oak and chocolate on the palate, with backing notes of cinnamon, baking spices, almond and earth. Retrohaling brings out vanilla and black pepper spice. The draw is excellent and the burn remains relatively even without touch-ups. Strength is medium at most by the latter stages.

With enticing flavors and stellar construction, the Warped Futuro Seleccion 109 makes a solid addition to the Warped portfolio of premium, boutique cigars. This scarce release is not likely to be reproduced again, making it a must-try for Warped fans.
